Description
Your Leybold Trivac uses a flexible coupling to connect the motor shaft to the pump shaft. It keeps oil from leaking out around the coupling and stops outside air from getting in. That helps the pump hold its vacuum and keeps the whole drive side clean and dry.
It also absorbs some vibration, so the pump runs quieter and the bearings last longer.
After years of use, heat, oil, and vibration can make the old gasket hard, cracked, or leaky. When that happens, you’ll see oil around the coupling or hear more noise.
