Description

A regular O-ring is made from one material, like rubber. An encapsulated O-ring is made from two materials. It has a soft inner core, which is FKM (Viton®). And it has a tough outer shell made of PTFE. Think of it like a piece of candy with a soft center and a hard outer layer. The PTFE shell is sealed seamlessly around the FKM core, completely protecting it from the outside environment.
