Description
This gasket, also known as a filler plug gasket, is a flat ring. It sits between the oil cap and the pump body. When you tighten the cap, this gasket gets squeezed, filling any tiny gaps. It creates a reliable seal that oil cannot pass through. A pump without a good oil cap seal will leak oil. This is messy and wasteful. More importantly, it can let dirt and dust get into the oil. Dirty oil is like sandpaper for the inside of your pump. It can scratch the cylinder walls and wear out the vanes much faster.
