Description
Inside your vacuum pump, oil is constantly moving. It lubricates parts and helps create the vacuum. But sometimes, oil can get stuck in the wrong places. The oil return valve is a small device that fixes this problem.
Think of the oil return valve as a traffic director for your pump’s oil. It is a simple but clever one-way valve.
Its job is to let oil flow in one direction only – back to the oil reservoir. It stops oil from flowing backwards or pooling in the upper parts of the pump.
If oil gets stuck and can’t return, the oil reservoir will run low. The pump’s moving parts won’t get the lubrication they need. This is called oil starvation, and it can cause serious damage very quickly.
