Description
Inside a rotary vane vacuum pump, a central rotor spins inside a circular chamber. Slotted into this rotor are flat, rectangular pieces called vanes. As the rotor spins at high speed, centrifugal force pushes these vanes outward.
The edges of the vanes press tightly against the smooth inner wall of the pump chamber. This action creates moving, sealed pockets of air. These pockets get smaller, compressing the air and pushing it out of the pump. This is how the vacuum is created.
This Busch Carbon Vane replacement (Part #722533535) is one of those vital parts. It’s a consumable wear item, meaning it’s designed to be replaced periodically to keep the pump running like new
