Description
The gas ballast is a special feature on your vacuum pump. It helps the pump handle wet vapor or small amounts of liquid. It lets a tiny bit of dry air into the pump. This stops moisture from condensing and mixing with the pump oil.
If the gasket on this valve is cracked or worn, it leaks. This leak lets in too much unwanted air. Your pump then struggles to reach the deep vacuum you need for your work.
