Description
The Leybold Trivac D40B is a two-stage pump.
The first stage pulls the vacuum from your chamber.
The second stage takes the gas that’s already partly compressed and pushes it all the way out to the atmosphere.
This rotor sits in that second stage. It spins fast and the vanes slide in and out of its slots to move the gas.
After many years the rotor surface gets worn, scratched, or slightly out of round. When that happens you notice slower pump-down times, higher final pressure, or more noise.
Replacing this rotor means a full pump rebuild. You open the pump, clean every part, replace bearings and seals, then put the new rotor in. It is a bigger job, but once it’s done the pump runs smooth and quiet again – exactly like a new one.
This part is made to the same tight tolerances as the original Leybold rotor. It drops straight in and lasts for many more years of service.
