This small black ring does a big job in your vacuum pump.

It fits into a groove and seals two metal parts together. That keeps air out and oil in – exactly what you need for good vacuum performance.

The material is Viton (also called FKM). It lasts much longer than regular rubber because it handles hot oil, chemicals, and vacuum conditions without cracking or swelling.

After a few years, or if the pump has been run hard, the old O-ring can harden or get damaged. When that happens, you lose vacuum power or see oil leaks.

This is the exact replacement (Part# 23970015, same as original Leybold 23970015). It fits perfectly
