Description

An O-ring is a simple but brilliant seal. It sits in a groove between two parts of your pump. When you put the pump together, the O-ring gets squeezed. This creates a tight barrier. The barrier stops oil from leaking out and, most importantly, stops air from leaking in. For a vacuum pump, keeping air out is the key to strong suction.

This O-ring is made from Viton. This is a special rubber. Viton is much more resistant to high temperatures and oils than standard rubber. This means it lasts longer and performs reliably in tough environments inside your pump.
