Changing your pump’s oil is basic maintenance. But you need a reliable plug to seal the drain hole when you’re done. This nylon plug does the job perfectly. Nylon is a strong, lightweight plastic. It has some great advantages over metal plugs. First, it cannot create sparks. This is a major safety benefit in workshops where flammable vapors might be present. Second, it won’t rust or corrode. It also resists many chemicals found in oils and solvents. Because nylon is slightly softer than metal, it’s very forgiving during installation. It’s much less likely to cross-thread or damage the threads in your pump’s aluminum housing. Just hand-tighten it firmly, and it will create a solid, leak-free seal. Always remember to use a new sealing washer for the best seal.
