Description
This sealing ring is a large, flat rubber ring. It fits between the pump’s main cover and the pump body. Its job is to create an airtight and oil-tight seal. When you tighten the cover bolts, this ring gets compressed. This compression fills any tiny gaps in the metal surfaces. The result is a tight seal that stops air from leaking in and oil from leaking out. It also keeps dust and dirt from getting inside the pump. Without this sealing ring, your pump will lose vacuum power, spray oil, and may get damaged by dirt.
