It sits in place to stop leaks between key sections of the pump. No oil dripping out. No extra air sneaking in to weaken the vacuum.
Made to exact factory specs, it’s the same part that comes with new Rietschle pumps. It’s thin but tough – just 4.88 inches across and super thin at 0.02 inches.
You’ll find it used on the popular VC400, VC500 and VC700 oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps. These are the workhorses in many industries.
