Description

This shim is a Kinney part made specifically for KMBD booster models KMBD1600 and KMBD850. It fits directly onto the shaft behind the timing gear. During a rebuild, you measure the gear backlash with a dial indicator. Then you select the right combination of shims to bring it within the factory specification. 

Installing the shim is easy. Place it onto the shaft before mounting the timing gear. Make sure the surfaces are clean and smooth. Once the gear is torqued down, check the backlash again. If it’s still not quite right, you can add or remove shims to get it perfect.
