This steel sleeve is like a tough shield for the shaft. It slips right over the shaft and takes all the wear instead of the shaft itself.

It’s made of strong steel, machined to exact size – 30 mm inside, 34 mm outside, and 20 mm long. Small part, but it saves the whole pump from bigger problems.
