This shaft seal is made to fit two specific pump models :

  • Rietschle VLT40

  • Rietschle DLT40

Both pumps are dry-running rotary vane vacuum pumps . They use carbon vanes and have no oil in the pumping chamber. However, the shaft seal still needs to seal the bearing areas.

      This is a PTFE shaft seal for Rietschle dry running vacuum pumps. It is designed specifically for the VLT40 and DLT40 models .

      A shaft seal does one important job. It stops leaks where the pump shaft comes out of the housing. The shaft spins at high speed. Oil and air want to escape through the gap around the shaft. The shaft seal blocks that gap.

      Without a good shaft seal, your pump will leak oil. It will also lose vacuum. The pump cannot build or hold pressure.
