The MF100 Mist Filter Element (Part # A22304020) is a replacement part for the Edwards MF100 Oil Mist Filter. This is the internal filter element that actually catches the oil mist from your pump’s exhaust. It is made from epoxy impregnated glass fiber . This element is used on the MF100 filter, which fits Edwards E1M40, E2M40, E1M80, and E2M80 pumps .

The filter elements are consumable parts. They do not last forever. Over time, the glass fiber gets clogged with captured oil and dirt. When they get clogged:
The filter stops working. A pressure relief valve opens inside the filter. Then, unfiltered oil mist goes straight out the exhaust .
Back pressure builds up. The pump has to work harder to push exhaust through the filter.
The pump can overheat.
