This is a replacement Breather Plug with 1″ BSP threads. It is compatible with Edwards vacuum pumps. It vents excess pressure and keeps dust and dirt out of your pump.

A breather plug does two main jobs :
Vents excess pressure: When the pump heats up, pressure builds up inside. The breather plug lets that pressure escape safely. This prevents damage to seals and gaskets.
Keeps contaminants out: When the pump cools down, it pulls air back in. The breather plug has a filter that stops dust and dirt from getting into the pump. Clean oil lasts longer. Your pump runs better.
Some breather plugs also have a splash guard. This stops oil from splashing out through the vent hole .
