Oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps use oil for sealing and cooling. As the pump runs, some of that oil mixes with the exhaust air. Without a good separator, that oil comes out as a visible mist. It makes a mess on your floor and wastes expensive oil.

This filter sits on the exhaust side of your pump. It catches the tiny oil droplets in the exhaust air . The clean air goes out. The separated oil drains back down into the pump to be used again .
