It prevents air leaks and maintains strong vacuum performance . It fits Becker VTLF 2.200 and VTLF 2.250 pump models. The VTLF series are oil-free dry vane pumps. They do not use oil to seal the inside chambers. Instead, they rely on tight clearances and good gaskets. If this gasket fails, air leaks in from outside. Your pump loses vacuum. It has to work harder to do the same job.
