The Busch SECO SV 1063B is a dry-running rotary vane vacuum pump. It is different from oil-lubricated pumps like the R5 series .
This pump does not use oil for sealing. Instead, it has self-lubricating vanes made from special materials . These vanes slide against the cylinder wall. Over time, they wear down.
Because it is dry, there are no oil leaks to worry about. But the internal parts still wear out after many hours of operation.
