A sight glass is simply a small window. It is made of strong glass with a metal frame around it. This window screws into the side of your vacuum pump.
Its only job is to let you see inside. You look through it to check how much oil is in the pump. It also lets you see if the oil looks dirty or clean.
Kinney made two different sight glasses for KMBD pumps. This is the original old style version. It looks different from the new style.
The old style has a different shape and size. It also has a different way of sealing. You need to know which style your pump uses. Putting the wrong one on will not work. It may leak or not fit at all.
