Its job is to push. It fits around the vane and provides constant, steady tension. This tension keeps the vane in the right position, ensuring a good seal as it spins.

Without enough tension from the spring, the vane can’t seal properly. This leads to a weak vacuum, poor performance, and can even cause internal damage over time.

Springs lose their strength after years of use. It’s normal wear and tear. Replacing them is a standard part of rebuilding or maintaining these pumps.
