The Gearbox Purge Filter (Part # A22305073) is a replacement part for Edwards iH Series dry vacuum pumps. It is a small sintered or mesh filter that cleans the nitrogen gas used for the gearbox purge. In harsh or explosive (ATEX) environments, a continuous flow of nitrogen is used to pressurize the gearbox.

The Edwards iH manual recommends checking the “Purge gas flow rates” as part of the general maintenance schedule .
Replace the Gearbox Purge Filter if:
You notice the nitrogen flow rate has dropped significantly (check your flow meters).
You are performing a full service on the pump or refurbishing it.
The pump is displaying warnings related to “Purge” or “Gas Flow.”
You are replacing the main oil filter or performing an oil change on the gearbox (if applicable) .
