The Gas Ballast Filter, Felt (Part # A22305041) is a replacement part for Edwards E2M40, E2M80, and E2M275 rotary vane pumps . This soft white felt filter sits inside the gas ballast assembly. Its job is to clean the air that enters your pump through the gas ballast valve. It stops dust and dirt from getting into your pump oil. The Edwards manual says you must replace these filter elements every time you change the oil in your pump . Each E2M40/E2M80 pump takes two of these filters .

This is very important. The E2M40 and E2M80 pumps use two felt filter elements in the gas ballast assembly . The official Edwards manual shows that the bearing-plate contains two filter elements .
