The rotor is the part that spins inside the pump cylinder. It has slots that hold the vanes. As the rotor turns, the vanes slide in and out. They trap gas and push it through the pump.
The LV stage rotor handles the gas after it has already been pulled by the first stage. It takes that gas and compresses it further before pushing it out through the exhaust valve. This second stage is what allows a two-stage pump to achieve a much deeper ultimate vacuum than a single-stage pump—down to an incredible 1 x 10⁻³ mbar

The COUPLING BOSS FOR E2M28 PK1 is a replacement part made for the Edwards E2M28 rotary vane vacuum pump. This small metal part is a key piece of the drive coupling assembly. It connects the motor shaft to the pump shaft. Without a good coupling boss, the motor cannot turn the pump. If your pump is not pulling vacuum or making strange noises, this part may be worn out. Replace it to get your pump running again.
