      Dry pumps like the iH80, iH160, and iL70 operate with very tight internal clearances. To work correctly, the two rotors inside the pump must spin in perfect synchronization. They cannot touch each other, yet they must maintain a gap .

      If the timing is off, the rotors collide. This destroys the pump instantly.

      This Pair of Timing Gears is what keeps the rotors in sync
