Valve bodies are made of metal. They usually last a long time. But sometimes things go wrong:
The body can crack if the pump is dropped or hit
The threads inside can get stripped or damaged
Corrosion can eat away at the metal
The mounting surface can get warped
When the valve body is damaged, you have two choices. You can try to repair it. Or you can replace it. Most of the time, replacement is the better option. A new valve body gives you a fresh start.
