This is an air-oil separator / oil separator filter (Part # 1801032). It is designed and manufactured by DVP for use in lubricated vane vacuum pumps .
This filter sits inside your pump’s exhaust system. Its job is to catch tiny oil droplets before they leave the pump. Clean air goes out. The oil stays inside where it belongs.
This filter fits the following DVP pump models :
LB 40
LB 60
LC 40
LC 40WR
LC 60
LC 60WR
The separator contains special filter material. As the air-oil mixture passes through, the oil droplets get trapped. The clean air passes through. The trapped oil drains back into the pump .
A good quality separator leaves only 1 to 3 parts per million of oil in the exhaust air . That means almost no oil mist comes out.
