The Stator for Edwards E2M18 2nd Stage is a stationary part inside your pump. It sits in the LV (low vacuum) second stage . The rotor spins inside the stator. This action creates the suction that pulls air and gases out of your system.
Think of it like this. Your E2M18 pump has two stages . The LV stage is the second stage where the pumping continues after the first stage. If this stage is weak, the whole pump becomes weak.
