This is the Edwards Taper Dowel Pin. Part number 27013-012. It measures 10mm x 24mm. This is used to align and secure components on Edwards vacuum pumps.

Taper dowel pins are made of hard steel. They are tough. But they can still get damaged. If the pin gets bent, it will not work right. If the surface gets scratched or rusted, it may not fit properly.
If you lose the pin during a rebuild, you need a replacement. Never reuse a damaged pin. A damaged pin will not hold the alignment. Your pump will vibrate. Parts will wear out faster.

This is an LV headplate. LV stands for Low Volume. Edwards designed different headplates for different stages of the pumping process. The LV headplate is used on the low vacuum side of the pump .
