This is a VLV BALL valve. “VLV” stands for valve. It is a manual ball valve. That means you turn a handle to open or close it.
Inside the valve, there is a ball with a hole through it. When the handle is lined up with the pipe, the valve is open. Fluid or gas can flow through. When you turn the handle across the pipe, the valve is closed. The ball blocks the flow.
