This is an air intake filter (Part # 1801035). It is designed and manufactured by DVP for use in the SB 40 dry vane pump .
This filter fits on the inlet side of your pump. As air gets pulled into the pump, this filter catches any dust, dirt, or debris. Only clean air passes through to the inside of your pump.
This filter is made for DVP dry-running vane pumps. It fits these models :
SB 40
SC 40
DVP SB and SC series pumps are dry-running vacuum pumps. They do not use oil for sealing. Instead, they use carbon vanes that slide inside the pump body.
Because there is no oil to trap dirt, a good air filter is even more important on dry pumps than on oil-lubricated ones.
