This is an OEM replacement Gas Ballast Control Knob for Edwards XDS and nXDS series dry scroll vacuum pumps . This knob is used to manually control the gas ballast valve on the pump . It selects between three positions (Off, Low flow, High flow). This setting determines how much air is introduced into the pump to help handle condensable vapors like water and solvents .

      The gas ballast is a critical feature on your Edwards XDS or nXDS pump. It allows the pump to handle water vapor and other condensable gases without losing performance The Gas Ballast Control Knob (Part # A73501759) is the part you turn to control this feature. If it is damaged, you cannot adjust the gas ballast. Your pump cannot handle wet processes.
