This is the Edwards Gear Key. Part number 424-651-008. It is a small metal piece that locks a gear to a rotating shaft. If your pump’s timing or drive gear has come loose, you may need this key.

A gear key is a small metal piece. It looks like a small rectangular block. You put it into a slot on a shaft. Then you slide the gear over it. The key locks the gear to the shaft. This makes sure the gear and shaft spin together.
Without this key, the gear would just spin freely on the shaft. Your pump would not work.
