SP40K SPEEDIVALVE FKM GP DIAPHRAGM

This is a manual valve for your vacuum line. You just turn a knob to open or close it. The Edwards SP40K is a diaphragm valve. Inside, a flexible rubber disc (the diaphragm) presses down onto a smooth metal seat to seal the line. Turn the knob back, and the disc lifts up to open the path .

It is the largest of the common KF flange Speedivalves, with a 40 mm bore size .

The product name says “FKM GP DIAPHRAGM”. FKM is the technical name for Fluoroelastomer. You might know it by the brand name Viton® . This is a high-performance rubber.

The FKM diaphragm is a great choice if your process involves:

• Higher temperatures (it handles heat better than standard rubber)

• Chemicals and solvents (FKM resists many chemicals that would damage other rubbers)

You can also buy this valve with a Nitrile rubber diaphragm (part number C33405000). FKM is the upgrade for tougher conditions.
