This NW16 Centring Ring is the Edwards component. It is designed to be placed between two identical NW16 flanges. When you tighten a clamp around the outside, it compresses the O-ring inside this centring ring to form an airtight vacuum seal.
This centring ring has two main parts:
The Stainless Steel Support Ring: The metal ring that holds the O-ring in place. It is made of stainless steel (S/S) for strength and corrosion resistance.
The Nitrile O-Ring: A rubber ring attached to the support ring. This is the part that compresses to form the actual seal.
