The COUPLING BOSS is a replacement part made for Edwards EH Series Mechanical Booster Pumps. It is an important part of the hydrokinetic coupling assembly. This assembly connects the motor to the pumping mechanism. The coupling boss helps transmit power smoothly from the motor to the pump rotors. If this part wears out, your pump may not run correctly. The coupling boss is a small but vital part inside that hydrokinetic drive assembly. Think of it as the connector that links the drive to the shaft. It sits between the coupling and the rotor shaft. Its job is to transfer rotational force from the motor to the lobes that do the pumping.
Replace the coupling boss whenever you service the hydrokinetic drive. Also replace it if:
